a cold evening

Just last night our little youth worship band had the opportunity to play a “gig” outside our church walls. Our pastor had been invited to preach at an outdoor revival meeting in the middle of a neighboring community and the youth band was invited to lead the song service and lead the congregation in worship. It was most definitely a learning experience for all involved and man was it cold! We set up the drums, speakers, amplifiers, mikes, 3 guitars and a bass on a flat bed hay trailer, thankfully able to get set up just before dark. By the time came to begin, the temperatures were near freezing and I could hardly feel the ends of my fingers. But what a great night! Our teenage boys were so excited to be a part and be on the stage. I pray that our church continue to encourage and nurture all of our youth and that God would continue to give us opportunity to learn how to lead in worship and truly become lead worshippers, in spirit and in truth, not only on a “stage” but in our everyday lives.
